I mentioned in my last post that I was surprised at how functional and versatile the Samsung Q1 Ultra is. In fact, I am so impressed by the machine that I have to take back all the things I said about Vista on ultra-mobile PCs. Here is my experience:
- Handwriting recognition is superb.
- Navigation is smooth and intuitive.
- Origami Experience is a good media shell.
- Everything loads fast and beautifully.
- Program compatibility is not a problem.
- Even gaming is smooth and sharp.
- The Q1U-V drivers work out of the box.
- Vista's interface doesn't waste too much of the limited screen real-estate.
Actually, there it isn't. If you hadn't noticed by now, I am keeping with the spirit of the first day of the the fourth month. While it is foolish to think I am abandoning Linux, I will still make note of something: Every odd number above (1, 3, 5, and 7) is accurate. All the even numbers are lies about Vista.

Good April fools day ; in French : Poisson d'Avril !!!
No way we are going to believe you unless you post a video of yourself burning a penguin effigy on a sacrificial bonfire!
Sounds like Dan is having what I like to call choice syndrome. Basically he wants his UMPC to be as User Friendly as his NIT. With work this can happen, but that means A LOT of work. So its just sometimes easier to be chained down by proprietary software, even though it deprives users of customizations and optimizations, but who am I to judge this awesome blogger.
PS Dan, your the man!!!
---> seriously ;)

So when are you going to make a vid of Ubuntu 8.04 running on the Q1???
And if you could also please show us your "vlited" Vista running in virtualbox with all the tablet functions enabled!
:D :D :D
Oh please... Nice April fool's joke!
I'd understand (somewhat) if you'd decided to go the XP route, but Vista?
