I know I've been absent from UltraMobileGeek.com lately. I've been very busy providing extensive coverage on the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet over on tabletblog.com.
I haven't forgotten about UMPCs and MIDs, though. I am in contact with TabletKiosk about their Linux preinstallation on select UMPCs (currently available on the TufTab v7112XT) and look forward to seeing that on more devices.
I also contacted Intel's PR department asking about Moblin and MIDs. I asked simply for a press release or any other generic journalist information as I normally would when establishing a new relationship with a company.
In regards to your request for information about Intel’s investment in the Linux Mobile Internet Device, I would like to direct you to www.moblin.org. This is the best resource to stay up to date on Intel and mobile Linux related news. The problem here is that moblin.org is not intended for public consumption. Like the Nokia Internet Tablets' maemo.org, it is intended as a gathering of developers on open-source operations over a common platform. It's far too early to attempt to digest that all into articles fit for public consumption. I sigh. Maybe they'll have Linux PR one day.
Stay tuned.

I know this is a decades-old post in Internet time, but did you ever get in touch with anyone?
I'm the new Mobile Developer Community Manager at Intel and am learning about the whole mobile, MID, UMPC space. Heck, I'm still learning about Moblin myself. But I saw your post as I've been surfing along and wanted to check in.
Thanks Jeff. I left a comment in your blog with updates post-CES and invited you to contact me directly.
