Inspired by Gizmodo's post here, I ordered the above-pictured Addonics dual-slot IDE CompactFlash adapter for my TabletKiosk eo v7110. I will have to find a couple inexpensive CF cards with which to test this.
Apparently, the model I ordered uses both the master and slave channels of the IDE bus over a single connector, so I will have a small (2GB) CF card as the secondary drive to attempt to make my own "hibernate to flash" UMPC.
Expect to see battery tests, benchmarks, an installation video, and more. If this works out, it could be a neat little toy for $30 plus the cost of the cards.

We're playing with using CF cards at work to replace 2.5" HD's that we use in an industrial setting.
We only need about 10 gigs and we can't buy smaller than 40 GB hd's anymore. What were finding is that, at least with Embedded XP, you can't boot using any old CF drive. eXP sees the drive as removable, not as a primary drive and won't boot. This may not be an issue with full XP or Vista but we're having fun with it.
