In addition to product reviews and such, I am also shopping for my own next ultra-mobile. When I get one, I'll be sending my v7110 out to friends, bloggers, and other hackers so they can evaluate the ultra-mobile experience too.
This is my requirement list:
- Docking Station. Can't emphasize the need for this enough.
- 2.5 hours or more of "real world" battery life.
- Light touch screen (so DialKeys and finger controls are more sensitive)
- Enough horsepower to run Vista Home Premium with the Origami Experience
- Integrated stand or slip-case with a stand.
- Less than US $1,400
Most current ultra-mobiles STILL have driver issues with Vista. Th OQO 02 and the Samsung Q1 Ultra are front-runners, but the former is expensive and the latter is not yet available.

Looking at your battery life wishes, horspower and cost items:
why no-one takes on manufacturing a N770/800 clone using Linux that will free the h/w+platform combo of being and exotic nokism?
Ultra doesnt have a real docking station. Its a cradle with USB replicators. No VGA out so you have to plug in three cables.
How about the i7210? Only 2 hours battery life but its the ONLY umpc with a real docking station. Sony UX also have real dock and OQO 02 but I don't like the screen size on these.
Vista on i710 is a prob but why do you want Vista?
Thanks, Chippy :)
I want Vista because no "new" computer will really be sold without it (hell, even basic barebone $300 desktops at Fry's have Vista Home Basic) so I don't want to be behind the curve in my writing. Yes, I plan to dual-boot XP Tablet and Vista if at all possible.
I REALLY like the i7210 for size, functionality, and especially docking. We'll see what comes down the pipe.
Hmm I thought the ultra did have a vga out. Now I kinda don't want it.
I forgot about the i7210 that is a sweet tablet.
