UMPC Car part 1: Mounting

The video really says it all on this one - and I actually make an appearance in it this time.

All this mounting gear is courtesy of ProClip USA. I especially thank them for backtracking with me when, in the middle of our talk, I replaced my old ghetto-UMPC'd Sentra with:

Pluto!
Pluto is my 2007 Toyota Yaris. It's a very geek-able car with so many compartments and such. Sadly, it was a little awkward to find a place to mount the UMPC and still use the touch screen. I would imagine there are comparable products for cars which do not have a center-mounted instrument displays. The video shows how the "Move Clip Large" slides together, and this is how it looks on the back of the UMPC:

Just to show off a bit, this is how the vent mount attaches. I later decided to use the vent mount as a temporary, removable UMPC mount (and either blow air conditioning or no air at all through the vent.)

Here are some shots of the "angle mount" for the Yaris. You can see how the pre-drilled holes on both sides of the mounting kit fit together.
In the video, you can see how secure these devices are and how easy they are to install. I decided to rearrange the whole she-bang and use the angled mount with the tilt and swivel feature for the phone and the vent mount for the UMPC. To mount my UMPC in the car, it takes under a minute.

Despite how cramped it looks in my own car, I highly suggest anyone who uses any electronics on the road give ProClip products a shot. They range from "dirt cheap" to "pretty expensive." The most expensive of their products include either 12V plugs or hard-wire kits so that any device slid into the mount starts charging automatically. Retail of the parts I received:

Move Clip Large: $24.99
i-mate SP5m with swivel: $29.99
Toyota Yaris Angle Mount: $29.99
Toyota Yaris Vent Mount: $29.99

Given that this is a two-part solution, an average UMPC user will buy the Move Clip Large and one vehicle-specific clip. Most vehicles have 2-3 places you can choose to mount your device. The average expenditure will then be around US $60. This may be on the expensive side for plastic, but you are paying for something specific to your vehicle and specific to your device. As vehicle accessories go, it's a good buy. Thanks again to ProClip USA!

Stay tuned for Part 2: Another look at StreetDeck!

First, keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing it.
Second, I just ordered my 770, and knew of ProClip; my question is, was there a product in their lineup suited to holding the 770?
I already have the dash/center mount chosen from ProClip, but would like to know if you discussed any 770 options with them.
Thanks.
