The good news with this is that you can control, configure, install software on, or simply monitor the status of your UMPC from any computer on your network (or even the Internet!)
The first step is to allow Remote Desktop Connections:
Right-click your My Computer icon and click Properties, then choose the Remote tab. Look at the image below:

Now, from another Windows XP computer, fire up Remote Desktop Connection.
It's located in Start > Programs > Accessories > Communication

Incoming Remote Desktop is supported in Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Home, Windows 2000, Windows Server, and Windows XP Media Center Edition. It is NOT included nor even hackable on Windows XP Home.
